The project focuses on design synthesis of specific yet locally adaptable processes and procedures.
The powerful idea and subtle design approach are combined to produce new kind of highly articulated and resilient coastal fabric, an amphibious connection linking the water environment and dry land. This is made possible through understanding and utilization of forces such as water currents, temperature differentiation and tidal fluctuations and material properties coupled with strategically implemented highly specific heterogeneously distributed network. The interaction between ever changing forces, materials effected by them and the network becomes a generative manufacturing strategy on a territorial scale.
The project is focused on innovative design coupled with low impact building technology, for endangered coastal areas in tropical and subtropical climates. The strategy is comprehensive and systematic in order to ensure simplicity of deployment and effective function over a long time period. Due to the overall simplicity of input and ability to deal and adapt to highly complex and changing context and concept is highly transferable, and broadly applicable and provides long term resilience.
